American Cities Climate Challenge Training Event - Denver, CO

The American Cities Climate Challenge Renewables Accelerator provides cutting-edge tools, resources and technical assistance to help U.S. cities advance ambitious renewable energy goals. This partnership with Rocky Mountain Institute, World Resources Institute, and the Urban Sustainability Directors Network supports the Bloomberg American Cities Climate Challenge.

This effort works with cohorts of cities grouped around key renewable procurement methods to deliver knowledge, tools, assistance, and peer learning to quickly implement and scale clean energy solutions. One high-impact delivery method is interactive working session pairing key city leaders with technical experts from across the country.

Fosterra’s President, Ben Foster, was selected to facilitate sessions on best practices and lessons learned for municipal solar project development and financing. Through this multi-day event, a cohort of over 20 cities worked together to explore trends, challenges, opportunities and paths forward. As a true nationwide effort, cities from Alaska to Michigan to Florida were on-site in Denver, CO and brought ideas and action items back to their home jurisdictions for implementation.
