Fosterra Launches Podcast Series on Beating Burnout for Sustainability Professionals
New York, New York – Fosterra has launched a new podcast series focused on one of the most persistent but least discussed challenges in the sustainability field: burnout.
Developed in connection with ISTEP programming and community discussions, the series is designed for sustainability professionals managing growing expectations, expanding responsibilities, and increasingly complex work across reporting, supplier engagement, climate strategy, and implementation. The new series creates space for practical conversation around workload, resilience, and sustainable ways of working in a profession that is often asked to move faster with fewer resources.
The first podcast theme, Beating Burnout for Sustainability Professionals, builds on the kinds of issues increasingly surfacing in the ISTEP community: how to recognize early signs of burnout, how to manage competing demands, and how to build healthier approaches to high-pressure sustainability work without losing momentum.
Rather than treating burnout as a personal weakness, the series explores it as a structural and professional challenge affecting many people across sustainability, operations, procurement, and related functions. Episodes will focus on realistic strategies, candid conversations, and practical ideas that listeners can apply in their day-to-day work.
“At Fosterra, we spend a great deal of time with professionals who are carrying major sustainability responsibilities, often across multiple functions and with limited capacity,” said Benjamin Foster, CEO of Fosterra. “We wanted to create something that is useful, honest, and supportive for the people doing this work every day.”
The podcast series is part of Fosterra’s broader commitment through ISTEP to provide sustainability professionals with not only technical resources and expert insight, but also a stronger sense of community and practical support. In addition to the podcast, ISTEP continues to offer webinars, meet-ups, office hours, and in-person events designed to help professionals learn, connect, and move forward with confidence.
